Where is the paint code on a Honda?
Label on the driver's door jamb. A letter group, a number and often a final letter, for example NH-731P (Crystal Black Pearl) or R-81. The final P or M often means pearl or metallic.
- Driver's door jamb (B-pillar)
Step by step
- Open the driver's door and check the label on the B-pillar or the edge of the door.
- The colour code is printed on its own, usually with a hyphen:
B-588P,NH-788P. - Some older models print it on a sticker under the bonnet near the radiator support.
Codes are often written without the hyphen in paint catalogues: NH731P and NH-731P are the same colour.
No label?
Labels fade or go missing after repairs. A Honda dealer can read the original colour from the VIN, and the service booklet often lists it. If the car has been resprayed, have a painted part (the fuel filler flap is ideal) scanned at a paint shop.
